Dr. Robert N. Kum

Dr. Robert Kum graduated with honors from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City, Missouri. Originally from Canada, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.

Dr. Kum began his chiropractic career practicing in one of the largest group chiropractic clinics in the Midwest. There he developed a strong belief in the concept of a chiropractic group practice. In 2002, he moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, where he applied this concept by transforming a small solo office into an integrative, multidisciplinary practice. He built a strong relationship with Harvard University Health Services, and this has led to his treatment of many Harvard faculty, staff and students. Dr. Kum also has had the privilege of working with a number of Harvard’s athletics teams. In 2005, Dr. Kum accepted the position of Director of Chiropractic Services in the largest integrative healthcare company in the U.S. and successfully expanded the chiropractic department to three locations in the Boston area.

In 2007, Dr. Kum, together with his long-time colleague, Dr. Keith Puri founded ChiroCare, an outstanding independent practice where he is able to integrate his beliefs and extensive experience. As a highly respected professional, he has been invited to give numerous presentations on Chiropractic to companies and agencies. Dr. Kum continues to work with a range of athletic teams, enjoys referral relationships with many primary care physicians and specialists in the greater-Boston area, and has remained the official team chiropractor for the Harvard Women’s Swimming and Diving Team for the past eight years.

Dr. Kum is certified in a number of chiropractic manipulative techniques and has additional training in extremity manipulation, motion palpation analysis, a variety of soft tissue procedures and most recently has become Webster certified. He offers a family chiropractic practice with an orthopedic, sports-injury, perinatal and postnatal focus. Having family members in both the conventional Western and Asian medical fields, Dr. Kum believes that chiropractic has an important place the conventional and complementary health care picture, and at the same time believes that it is often necessary to work with other health care professionals to best resolve a patient’s condition. Most of all, Dr. Kum believes in treating his patients as he would want to be treated. He believes that every individual in unique, each condition is different, and as a result, treatment should be customized to the individual. These basic beliefs are fundamental to the cornerstone philosophy of ChiroCare.
